Levelland High School Grades 9-12

Levelland High School senior, Lukas Bontrager won a state award in sports action photography from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators Association. His girls basketball photo in the 2015 El Lobo Yearbook received an honorable mention. It was submitted by the 2015 yearbook adviser, Kelly Buckner, earlier in year and winners were announced this month (April). Yearbooks are judged the year after they come out. Photos chosen for honors receive either a superior excellent, or honorable mention. Bontrager received a certificate. The 2015 El Lobo Yearbook had a mosaic theme due to Levelland being the City of Mosaics. "Lukas was a good yearbook staff member. He was available to photograph events, met his deadlines for his stories and page designs, and could be depended on because you knew the work he did would be good. Whether it was yearbook, football, or basketball, he put his all into it," Buckner said.
