And this is why we teach. Every now and then we are moved by what our students accomplish and this is just one of those times...........

Several of our LHS general education students are part of making LHS a Unified Champion School. The Unified Track Meets and Events promote inclusion among our students with and without disabilities. Not being excluded helps with learning and self-esteem. LHS students are using the Unified Track Events as an avenue to promote inclusion. Accepting others teaches us that everyone has the right to feel and be different. LHS students state that these events have helped them have more acceptance, compassion, encouragement, understanding, and expectations.

Our LHS students presented this growing program at the LISD Board Meeting and there was hardly a dry eye in the crowd! We appreciate these kids for making a difference! You're in the right place!
