Mrs. Brown’s LHS Chemistry students made homemade ice cream as they were wrapping up their thermochemistry unit. They learned that the freezing of their ice cream occurred due to an exothermic change -- it released energy into the ice. In contrast, the process of the ice melting was an endothermic change because it absorbed energy from the ice cream mixture and from the external environment. What a delicious experiment and fun way to learn! You're in the right place!
