LISD's Director of Instructional Services Donna Pugh is excited to share that NASA’s High School Aerospace Scholars accepted LHS junior Michelle Bustillos as part of their authentic learning experience. Michelle will engage in NASA’s mission to become the next generation of Artemis explorers and learn different STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) related fields of study she might want to pursue in college. Following a series of online lessons, she will attend a five-day summer Moonshot virtual experience that is a team-based Artemis-themed mission to the Moon and Mars with guidance from NASA scientists and engineers. This summer she can be invited to a 2-day residential experience at Johnson Space Center as well. This will be an amazing experience for Michelle to learn more about aerospace.
