It Takes a Village!

LHS Freshmen in Mrs. Jodi Coleman's English I classes share their village creations.  Mrs. Coleman challenged her students to come up with an idea that would make them excited about writing poetry, and they said they wanted to create a Christmas village. Students collaborated on all the things that make up a productive town and created a building from jails to churches, from Walmart to Santa's Workshop, an ice skating rink, and a Stripes convenience store.  Mrs. Coleman's students have been studying poetry, so she challenged them to write a poem about their building and how it contributes to society. Thank you, Mrs. Coleman, for listening to your students and making learning important for them! It was a great way to tie up the end of the semester.
