Slam Poetry

LHS Freshmen in Mrs. Lilian Northcutt's Honors English I class have been studying poetry. Because poetry is losing some luster, students were challenged to create slam poetry! Slam poetry is about something important to you, it's fascinating and energetic and moves the audience when read aloud. Students wrote their final poems and performed them in front of the class right before the Christmas Break for their last grade of the semester! It was fun, and some were just a bit nervous! What a great way to get poetry going again!
