Tennis Coach Jeff Braziel shares that the Tennis Teams competed in the All-Saints Tournament. JV players, Hector Larrea and Cy'Jai Mitchell would finish First in Mixed Doubles, while Emmina Collins and Paloma Escamilla would finish as Consolation Champs in Girls Doubles. He also shares that the Varsity Tennis Team competed at All-Saints against multiple state qualifiers & with regional powerhouse schools, but competed very well. Evalyn Jasso finished 5th in Girls Singles. AnaDelia Sanchez & Nadia Perez placed Fourth in Girls Doubles. Elizabeth Sanchez & Jasmin Mendoza brought home the Consolation Championship in Girls Doubles, while Ryeton McMahan & Alexis Sanchez brought home the Consolation Championship in Mixed Doubles. Coach Braziel continues that LMS competed in their first tournament of the spring and brought home hardware too. The 7th-grade boys received 3rd-place medals all the way across. Chase Eller and Isaiah Gomez lost to the eventual champions from Andrews, but came back to win against Odessa Bonham for the third-place medal. Esteban Nieland lost to Andrews in the semis but came back to win against a boy from Odessa 4-1 to earn his bronze medal. 8th-grade Doubles of Reese Payton and Diego Franco took home the bronze medal after losing to the twins of Andrews and beating out Snyder 4-0. Gage Taylor received 4th place in 8th-grade Boys Singles after losing to the eventual champion Ramirez from Sweetwater in the semifinals and Ector County Prep Academy for the eventual bronze 4-2. The 8th-grade Girls Doubles of Daniella Perez-Garcia and Anahi Jasso brought home the Consolation medal after originally losing to Andrews, edging out teammates Nadia Marrufo and Mariya Rubalcava 7-6, and then beating a pair of doubles from Big Spring 4-0 and 4-1.
