LHS Veterinary Medical Applications teacher D'Nae Wilson shares that several of her Seniors in the Veterinary Medical Applications class earned certifications this year! Madisyn Tidwell, the senior, earned her Elanco/iCEV Veterinary Medical Applications Certification and a partial Certified Veterinary Assistant certification from the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Trace DeArmond, senior, earned his Elanco/iCEV Veterinary Medical Applications Certification. KhloeKay Chavarria, senior, earned a full Certified Veterinary Assistant certification from the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. She was also awarded a scholarship from College Avenue Animal Clinic. Lizandro Lopez, senior, earned a partial Certified Veterinary Assistant certification from the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. To earn their TVMA CVA, the students completed 200 hours of in-class study at LHS, spent 300 hours working hands-on in a veterinary clinic, and passed a certification exam. Miss Wilson states, "our program is blessed to have the support of the veterinarians and staff at College Avenue Animal Clinic, who welcomed our students into their clinic to work towards their 300 hours." Those students who earned partial certifications will be able to finish their in-clinic hours over the next year for a full certification. To earn the Elanco iCEV certification, students passed an extensive exam. We are so proud of the courses that LHS offers! We congratulate these four students on their great accomplishment!
