Band Goes to State

Our LHS students continue to show out! We are so thankful for these amazing programs that offer students great opportunities! LHS Band Director Michael Cason and Assistant Band Director Matthew Tolentino share that it's time to celebrate some of our Lobo Band members as they wrapped up their weekend in Pflugerville at the UIL State Solo & Ensemble contest. Michelle Bustillos and Alvaro Loza received silver medals for their performances on their flute solos. The saxophone ensemble (River Castillo, Jose Muro, Austin Ellis and Caleb Miller) and the flute choir (Michelle, Alvaro, AnnaLee Napier, Rosa Servin, Kaydence Escarcega, Sallie Guzman, Briana Flores, and Heather Stancell) received a rating of Excellent. Our other solo state qualifiers, Ada Niederhauser and Ensemble State qualifiers, and clarinet choir (Valentin Esparza-Vargas, Matt Almager, Anaylis Aguilar, Israel Guiterrez, Robert Cage, and Gabby Ortiz) had wonderful performances and represented LHS well. Mr. Cason #expectsexcellence and says, "I'm very proud of these students for going above and beyond and representing themselves and our school in such a high manner." Great job kids! We are proud of you and your hard work.
