Meet the New Head Boys Baskeball Coach

Meet the new LHS Boys Head Basketball Coach................

LISD is glad to get another of our homegrown boys as our Head Basketball Coach! We are proud for you to meet Kendall Durrett if you don't already know him! Coach Durrett is thrilled with this promotion and says, "I am incredibly honored to become the Head Basketball Coach at Levelland High School. I extend my deepest thanks to everyone who has played a positive role in my life. To my former coaches, mentors, colleagues, and, of course, my family and friends—your unwavering support and guidance have been invaluable. I wouldn't be here without you."

He graduated from LHS in 2017 and then received an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University. He has been teaching full-time in education for four years. Kendall has spent three years at LMS and one year at LHS. He started out at LISD working on the behavioral and emotional support staff his first year, then taught 7th-grade Health and just finished up teaching 8th-Grade PE. While coaching at LMS, Coach Durrett was blessed with the opportunity to coach some great kids and was able to go 31-1 in his two years coaching basketball there. He believes that pouring into our feeder programs is very important for students' success in high school. Coach Durrett has already made a difference for many of his students because he has built important relationships with them. He says, "They will always hold a special place in his heart." Kendall recently finished up his first year coaching at LHS being a Varsity Assistant Coach. He helped lead our team to an 18-18 record and a Bi-District Championship.

Coach Durrett states, "I am committed to fostering a culture of toughness, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and excellence. I'm all familiar with the Lobo Way, the work, the challenges, and competing for championships! My passion is to use basketball to help develop life skills that will set our young men up for success in the future. Together, we will strive to achieve great things both on and off the court." Congratulations Kendall! We are glad that we get to keep you here in Levelland ISD!
