Coach Braziel and Mr. Dewbre #expectsexcellence and share that they are so proud of our LHS National History Day students who attended the State Competition. This year's theme was "Rights & Responsibilities in History." These overachieving students explored how rights and responsibilities have shaped historical events and societal structures. Then they chose their historical topic related to the theme and conducted extensive primary and secondary research at libraries, archives, museums, historic sites, and more. After analyzing and interpreting their source material, they created a plan to present their findings to their peers, teachers, and school board before moving on to the regional and state competition. Our students presented original research papers, exhibits, performances, websites, and documentaries to judges. Congratulations to Ada Niederhauser, who placed third in the individual senior exhibit the competition was one spot from moving on to Nationals! Congratulations Ada! We are proud of all of you for the extra effort you put forth outside of the classroom!
