YELL Members Plan Records

LHS students attended a YELL (Young Emerging Leaders of Levelland) meeting at lunch today to learn about keeping records on themselves. Donna Pugh and Michelle Davis spoke to the students about starting to save money, applying for the thousands of scholarships out there, and starting a resume. To be accepted to college, students need to keep good records on themselves, starting with a resume. Some colleges look at students for academics, but others look at what a well-rounded person you are and how you've contributed to your community. A resume helps you write scholarship applications, too, because it's more than just a list of accomplishments to pass along to colleges. It's a snapshot of who you are, what you're passionate about, and how you spend your time. It's a great marketing tool that you can use in selling yourself. Thank you, Mrs. Pugh and Mrs. Davis for encouraging our LHS students to better themselves. Thank you, to the Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring the YELL program and for the Pizza lunch!
