Sports Awards Banquet

The LISD Athletic Booster Club and LHS Coaches were thrilled to get to host the Annual Sports Awards last night.  Everyone was looking sharp, anticipating being recognized.  The Athletic Boosters fed everyone with Smokin D's Catering.  Barry Royal provided the invocation and LHS Junior Machayla Parkinson sang the National Anthem to get things rolling.
First recognized was Coach Munoz's Cross Country team.  The Outstanding Male was Alexis Mendez, and Outstanding Female was Addi Hill.  The CC Fighting Heart Award went to Addy Hill.
Volleyball was next, being introduced by Kayla Overton. The Volleyball Most Improved Award went to Cailee Miller. Defensive Player of the Year went to Chloe Constantino, while Mahalie Stafford and Michaela Watkins were Co-Defensive Players of the Year. Michaela Watkins also earned the Academic Excellence Top Ranking Athlete Award. The Fighting Heart for Volleyball went to Illiyana Gonzales.  The Volleyball MVP was Kaylee McCarter.
Coach Robinson introduced the Lobo Football Team and honored all Seniors with a plaque.  The Football Offensive MVP went to Isaiah Salazar and Defensive MVP went to Skyler Davis.  Jason Ramirez received Special Teams MVP.  The Utility Player Award went to Dylan Bordayo.  Michael Bush received the Fighting Heart Award.
Coach Jackson introduced the Trainers and Newcomer of the Year went to Laynee Newberry, while the Co-MVPs were Graciela Maldonado and Jasmine Jasso.
Lobo Basketball was up next, with Coach Elam introducing the team.  Bryant White received Defensive MVP and the Academic Excellence Top Ranking Athlete Award. Taeshaun Jones earned the Sixth Man of the Year Award. The Heart of a Lobo Award went to Dylan Bordayo, while Zaiden LeCroy and Isaiah Salazar shared the Gano Tubb Award.
Coach Barnett introduced the Loboette Basketball Team. Mahalie Stafford earned the Fighting Heart Award.  The Defensive MVP was Mika Graf, and the Offensive MVP was Allie Latham.  MVP went to Emma Kent. 
Coach Brogden introduced the PowerLifting Team.
Coach Hamilton introduced the Tennis Teams and presented a Co-MVP Award to Delaney Peck and Felicia Vasquez.  Angel Lopez received Most Improved. The Fighting Heart Award was presented to Martin Neiland and AnaDelia Sanchez.  Christian Harvill received the boy's MVP (absent).
Stan Weatherred presented the Golf Teams. He gave the Co-Outstanding Male Golfer Award to Hunter Read and Max Vergera. Kiara Dosier and Britton Davis received the Co-Outstanding Female Golf Award.
Coach Paris introduced the WIT Baseball Team. They are still playing baseball and play for the Area Title this weekend.  He presented the WIT Award to RJ Ochoa. Dylen Wolfe earned MVP.  The Co-Fighting Heart Award was presented to Michael Bush and Conner Smith.  Joel Pena, Tyler Marrow, and John Flores all three earned the Pitchers Award.  Coach Paris awarded the Co-Golden Glove Award to both Dylan Bordayo and Zaiden LeCroy.
Coach Rodriguez presented the Loboette Softball Team and awarded Madi Rico the Newcomer of the Year Award.  Jaclyn Puente earned the Golden Glove Award, and Chloe Constantino earned the Silver Slugger Award. Coach Rodriguez awarded Amber Kelly with MVP.
Coach Soliz introduced the Lobo Track Team and then awarded the Field Events Award to Isaiah Salazar and the Running Events Award to Marco Guillen.  
Coach Munoz presented the Loboette Track Team and awarded Olivia Velardez with the Newcomer of the Year Award.  Ciarra Sanchez earned the Most Improved Award.  The MVP Award went to Sarahi Baeza.  The Co-Outstanding Award went to Mahalie Stafford and Reagan LaBadie.
The Awards Banquet ended with scholarships. Jamie Anthony presented the Dan Humphreys Memorial Scholarship to Hunter Read, and Athletic Booster Club President Kelly Read presented scholarships to thirteen seniors.
