LHS Band Awards

After having to miss last year, the LHS Lobo Band Boosters held their annual Awards Banquet at the Mallet last night. It was a beautiful, festive evening. New Band Booster Board Members were welcomed and retiring members thanked. Everyone said "goodbye" to Band Director Will Burks and welcomed the new Director John Barry. And finally, band members were rewarded with letter jacket patches, certificates, and accomplishments! Marching Band Awards went to Freshmen Zachary Swain for Best Freshman Marcher Woodwind, to Ben Childers for Best Freshman Marcher Brass, and to Sebastian Ramirez for Best Freshman Marcher Percussion. The Outstanding Colorguards were Jonathan Hinojosa and Theresa Martinez. The Trombones were honored as the best marching section. The drum majors honored were Adam Herrera, Jaclyn Puente, and Christian Corley. The Concert Band Awards were given next. Outstanding Freshman was Kai Gay. Outstanding Sophomore was Isabelle Romero. Kyndle Folger earned Outstandng Junior Bandsman and Claire Glenn was Outstanding Senior. Amiya Leaks earned Outstanding Concert Band Woodwind, Jeremiah Garcia was given Outstanding Concert Band Brass, and Adam Hernandez was honored with Outstanding Concert Band Percussion. The Order of the Duck Awards were given to Cecilia Berumen, Damian West, Kyndle Folger, Austin Ellis, Joshua Torres, Sarahi Munoz, Donovyn Osburn, Koda Verschueren, Gerardo Montanez-Gomez and Olivia Velardez. The Lobo Way Award was given to Robert Cage. Eduardo Melendez won The Director's Award. And Jasmine Jasso took home the John Phililp Sousa Award. The Lobo Band Seniors were then honored with their graduation cords. The night ended with a slide show of the Band events of the year!
