LHS held their annual Senior Awards Banquet to honor seniors earning scholarships and accolades from hard work put in during their high school years. Dr. Ryan Gibbs, Mike Box, and Stephen John from SPC started the ceremony and gave out $103,800.00 in SPC Scholarships to 84 LHS students. Those receiving the $500 SPC Opportunity Scholarship were Danni Bustillos, Adrian Castillo, Patrice Childers, Elizabeth Corrales, Johnson Daniel, Kevin Dominguez, Edwin Gonzalez, Benny Goolsbey, Alexia Gutierrez, Adam Hernandez, Zariah Hernandez, Ariel Loftin, Aurah Lopez, Mallory Magana, Isabel Martinez, Tucker Nock, Cristian Rayos, Eleazar Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Aalijah Soliz, Caleb Trevino, Samantha Valdez, Reigan Vestal and Osvaldo Villegas. Keely Taylor accepted a $500 Verna Allen Bowman Memorial Scholarship and the $500 SPC Opportunity Scholarship. Graciela Maldonado was given the $500 SPC Family Scholarship and the $500 SPC Opportunity Scholarship. Mariah Adame was given the $600 Llano Estacado Study Club Scholarship. Tai Sharp received the $800 Delbert Barry K-Bar Texas Electric Scholarship and the $500 SPC Opportunity Scholarship. Hunter Read obtained the $900 Sundown State Bank-Gano Tubb Memorial Scholarship. Tristan Ramirez received the $1,000 United Supermarkets Scholarship. Aaron Granados received the $1,000 JP & Judy Rose Memorial Scholarship. Tabitha Manuel obtained the $1,000 Levelland Noon Lions Club Scholarship and the $600 LG & Dorothy Griffin Memorial Scholarship. Ashlee Martinez earned the $1,000 Percy Cole Memorial Scholarship. The $1,000 Jane Cole Memorial Scholarship went to Christina Salinas, and the $1,000 John Cole Memorial Scholarship went to Johnathan Hinojosa. Faylon Rico accepted the $1,000 Virginia Nelson Memorial Scholarship in Education. Krysta Reyes and Tiah Taylor both earned a $1,000 Paul & Verna Musslewhite Memorial Scholarship. The $1,000 SPC Founders Opportunity Scholarships went to Brincent Barrera, Britton Davis, Arileigh Dent, Samantha Epke, Sebastian Gutierrez, Eden Leaks, Jagger Lopez, Yadira Melendez, Swan Park, Kalista Pena, Kaleb Penner, Elmer Rodelas, and Kimberly Zamarripa. The $1,000 JT & Margaret Talkington Opportunity Scholarship went to Kyara Childers, Leanna Davila, Yamilex Galaviz, Jasmine Jasso, Destiny Lopez, Itzel Medrano, Alesandra Montoya, Marisa Reyes, Ava Rodriguez, Lexy Romero, Johnathon Schulte, Abrianna Valdez, Mia Walker, and Mia Zapata. Nathan Flores obtained the $1,000 JT & Margaret Talkington Scholarship and the $800 Murrell Brown Memorial Scholarship in Welding Technology. Delaney Peck went away with the $1,000 JT & Margaret Talkington Scholarship and the $750 RL & Louise Heard Memorial Scholarship. Mallary Blocker earned the $1,000 JoBeth Parks Memorial Scholarship and the $700 Levelland Marigolds Scholarship. Miriam Rincon-Roman received the $1,000 JT Talkington Opportunity Scholarship and Mr. Stephen John presented her with the $500 Breakfast Rotary Scholarship. Beau Zuniga accepted the $1,200 Michael Frescaz Memorial Scholarship. James Vizcarra received the $1,250 Gano & Goldi Tubb Memorial Rotary Scholarship. Amber Barrientos received the $1,400 Hockley Co. Jr. Livestock Association Scholarship. Hailey Flores received the $1,400 Jeanette Swaringen Memorial Scholarship in Education from David Swaringen. The $2,000 Las Fideles Study Club Scholarship and the $900 Rose Garden Club Scholarship went to Illiyana Gonzalez. Michael Hanna, Stephanie Gonzalez, Alex Johnson, Kalgarie Oaks, Yolliet Rangel, Mahalie Stafford, and Felicia Vasquez all earned the $3,000 John & Vergie Belle Smallwood Scholarship. Kristina Long received the $3,000 John & Vergie Belle Smallwood Scholarship and the $500 SPC Family Scholarship. Bryant White accepted the $5,500 Salutatorian Honors Scholarship, while Michaela Watkins received the $5,500 Valedictorian Honors Scholarship and the $500 SPC Family Scholarship.
