Animal Welfare

LHS students in Miss D'Nae Wilson and Mrs. Lindsay Brown's Animal Science class are studying the welfare of animals. Animal welfare is how an animal is coping with the conditions in which it lives. An animal is in a good state of welfare if it is healthy, comfortable, well-nourished, safe, able to express innate behavior, and if it is not suffering from pain, fear, and distress. These awesome teachers had Miss Sarah Oden bring in her Kunekune pig to demonstrate and discuss animal welfare. This Pre-Veterinary class offers many opportunities to students that others never experience and we are so proud of that! You're in the right place!
