Forensics Class Studies Fingerprints

Hockley County Sheriff Ray Scrifes and Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Ross visited Coach Nelda Munoz's Forensic Science class to teach students about fingerprint analysis. Students learned that latent fingerprints are traces of sweat, oil, or other natural secretions on the skin, and they are not ordinarily visible. Students learned and experienced a lab on Latent fingerprints, understanding that dusting techniques make them visible. They made fingerprints, dusted them, lifted them, and identified minutiae patterns on the prints to solve a crime. Isn't LHS so lucky to have such great engaging classes that teach for now and the future? Thank you, Coach Munoz and Mr. Scifres and Ross. You're in the right place!
