  • Log in to your Khan Academy account. Practice for the SAT. Make sure to link your Khan Academy and College Board accounts.
     Taking the above steps gives you a head start. That's because once you join the program in December, you’ll be able to immediately see your progress. University Tutors Scholarship Contest -

University Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt.  Visitors to the University Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries.  The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by University Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.  Interested students can enter the contest here:

Discover Card Tribute Award

  • Amount:  300 state scholarships of $2500; 10 national scholarships for $25,000.  Scholarships for high school juniors to use postsecondary education at a two/four year college as well as trade school
  • Deadline:  Fall deadline, December 31; Spring deadline, April 30 of each year
  • Eligibility:  Criteria for selecting winners includes:  special talents, overcoming an obstacle, community service and leadership.  Applicants must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher in the 9th and 10th grades
