LHS Biology students are deep into learning! Biology explains the fundamental processes of all living organisms, from the molecular level to complex ecosystems. Students in Mrs. Sandy Billington's, Ms. D'Nae Wilson, and Mrs. Merribeth Gregory's Biology classes are going to leave LHS with a wide array of careers in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environmental conservation, education, and research. Students were engaged students in a hands-on lab with biomolecules where students examined sugar, oils and fats in common food. Students also learned from guest speaker Ashley Hanson, Hockley County Texas Agrilife agent. Ms. Hanson presented a program on Healthy Eating of protein, carbohydrates, and lipids. The kids observed test tubes full of how many grams of sugar and the amount of saturated and unsaturated fats in normal teenager foods. Wow, these LHS educators are really making a difference in learning! Thank you ladies! And thank you Ms. Hanson for coming and investing in our kids!
