LHS Pack Tennis Coaches Braziel and Lawson share great news about our tennis team! Coach Braziel says, "Man what a way to open up the Spring season for the PACK Tennis team! On Thursday our JV were in Big Spring where they battled the cold and wind for most of the day. That didn't stop them from bringing home some hardware:

Paula Castellanos second place girls singles,

Abril Perez third place girls singles,

Uriah Arenivas/Esperanza Acosta second place girls doubles,

Yarel Hernandez /Adayith Muro & Stephanie Sanchez/Maria Perez will be playing for third at practice next week,

and Sebastian Quezada/Jayden Olivas Consolation Champions (this was after some line up changes and they were thrown together that morning).

While on Friday our Varsity had a last minute change of plans due to the ice, and played in Big Spring instead of Lubbock. Our athletes battled through cold, large wait times and some tough competition. Bringing home 3 medals:

Nathan Ellis and Fabiola Hernandez took second in Mixed doubles, after falling just short in the championship in three sets to a really strong Big Spring team,

Daisy Perez and Deigo Franco took third in Mixed Doubles, dropping a close one 8-5 to the eventual champions,

and William Canon and Brady Houston took third in Boys doubles, after falling to a tough Brownfield team in the semis.

Overall we are beyond proud of the adaptability and drive each and every player showed in the first set of tournaments for the Spring season." Way to go Tennis Team, keep up the great work!
