LHS Solo & Ensemble

LHS Choir Director Joshua Ballard shares that his choir participated in the UIL Solo and Ensemble. In this UIL Solo & Ensemble competition, individual students and small groups perform prepared pieces for a judge and receive ratings. Mr. Ballard says, "We doubled the amount of soloists, small ensembles, and medals this year! Our professionalism, singing technique and achievements are growing! Their growth is FUN to see! This contest was a fantastic representation of how courageous and capable our singers are." Congratulations to these singers for singing the hardest difficulty of music and earning a superior judge score: Paula Castellanos, Abigail Heseman (not pictured), Andy Kim, Isaiah Mora, MJ Niederhauser (not pictured), Elyssa O'Bryon, Shiloh Rios, and Kyleigh Tadlock. LHS Senior Andy Kim says, "It was a really quiet and long experience. Many students who were trying out had time to relax and enjoy their time until they had to go sing. Some went into practice rooms and others were confident! Small ensemble groups used a choir room to practice their piece, and others listened to them practice. As time passed, people sang for the judge! People who were in line got more nervous as their friends came out of the audition room, relieved they had finished! After you finished your audition, you felt free from the pressure!" We are proud of our amazing vocalists! Keep singing and working toward your goal.
