Job Olympics

Our LHS LOC program recently invited LISD employees and Board Members to help interview students as they prepare for the Region 17 Job Olympics. Job Olympics is a hands-on, school-based event designed to help life skills students develop the vocational and functional skills they need for a successful transition into adulthood. Our LOC students have been working hard in class, practicing the skills required for the competition, including interview skills like the ones they practiced during this event. Opportunities like this make a meaningful difference in helping students gain real-world experience and confidence. The goal of Job Olympics is to prepare students to enter the workforce through a fun and engaging competition while building skills they can use in real job settings. Thank you to Mrs. VanZandt and Mrs. Young for organizing the interview times and helping prepare our students with the skills they need to succeed in life. LISD also appreciates the employees and board members who volunteered their time to support our students and help them build confidence in their interview abilities. It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, realtionships were built, and we look forward to seeing what these students accomplish in the future!
