LHS Choir Honors

Our LHS Choir participated in the UIL competition at the Buddy Holly Center. LHS Choir Director Joshua Ballard states that Levelland took two choirs to the competition for the first time in five years! The NV Loboette Choir earned a "3" onstage and "2" in sight reading. The Varsity El Coro De Lobo got "1" onstage and "2" in sight reading! Mr. Ballard says, "The growth we've seen over one year is exciting! One of my favorite memories from this school year will be showing the Varsity choir the plaque we earned! I've never heard them cheer louder! Thank you, for a wonderful core memory choir! Next year will be even better!" Choir member Santiago Vidales states, "it was the most nervous we've ever been since we came back from Christmas break, working all through January, February, and some of March. It was nonstop work, from working through the songs section by section to getting help from professors in SPC and ENMU, and a professional from Lubbock who sings at a church in Minnesota. And through all the days we had, from having hard days to having pretty easy days, all the work paid off when we saw our choir director, Mr. Ballard, walk up to the bus with a plaque in his hands! Now we'll need to prepare for next year to bring all 1's." Congratulations to our amazing vocalists on a job well done! We are proud of you!
