LHS Choir Trip
LHS Choir students recently returned from an unforgettable trip to San Antonio where music, history, and connection came together to create a truly meaningful experience. Throughout the trip, students had the opportunity to grow not only as musicians but also as individuals. The educational component of the trip was impactful, including Mission Concepción & Natural Bridge Caverns. Students had the privilege of working with a professor from the University of the Incarnate Word, gaining valuable insight and vocal techniques that strengthened their performance skills. A highlight of the trip was visiting the historic missions, including The Alamo, where students could walk through history and appreciate Texas's rich culture & heritage. LHS Sophomore Kyleigh Tadlock, shared her thoughts on the experience: "This trip was such a great experience for all of us! It was an opportunity for those who went to get to know each other on a more personal level, and a great opportunity to explore more of who we are. On the way to San Antonio, many of us had fun despite the long trip. Then we got to explore some beautiful caverns, followed by an evening by the River Walk. We learned some tips from a professor at the University of Incarnate Word. This strengthened our songs and our voices! The missions we explored while in San Antonio were beautiful as well. The Alamo was my favorite to explore, but all the churches were beautiful. Being able to spend time with my choir family is always a blessing, and I was very glad that I was able to attend this trip." Trips like this remind us that choir is about so much more than music! It’s about building relationships, creating memories, and growing together as a family. We are so proud of these students for representing LHS with excellence and for embracing every opportunity to learn, explore, and connect. We thank Choir Director Joshua Ballard for what he does to help our musicians grow! We bet that other people in the cavern and church enjoyed the special treat of hearing our wonderful singers.
