BBQ Team Competes at State
Our LHS BBQ Team took on the heat at the HSBBQ State Competition this past weekend, competing against 98 teams alongside their teacher, Mrs. Khris Oaks! Brody Moore, Taylor Howard, Neylea Suedeo, Tyler Mansell, and Aden Zamora put their talent and skills to the test by preparing and submitting dessert, brisket, beans, ribs, and half a chicken. Mrs. Oaks said, "Even with the challenge of high humidity and keeping those barrel temperatures steady, they cooked with determination and grit. Their hard work paid off with an impressive 20th place finish in the ribs category at the state level!" We are so proud of this team for representing LHS with excellence, perseverance, and true West Texas BBQ spirit. We are excited too that these students have found a niche and can see a future career after high school!
