LISD Superintendent Dr. Donald Heseman was caught back in the classroom today, but this time he was the teacher! Dr. Heseman visited Mr. Hill’s LHS Entrepreneurship class to give students a closer look at the teaching profession and an important reminder: Teaching is the one profession that helps create all other professions. Students explored teaching as a career while comparing it with other professions, including the education required, salary potential and TIA, time spent on the job & retirement benefits. Dr. Heseman gave students a realistic look at what a career in education can offer while sharing insight from his own years as an educator. But perhaps his most important advice went beyond salaries, benefits or retirement: Choose a career that makes you happy to get up and go to work every day. Career exploration gives our students opportunities to discover what is out there, ask questions & begin thinking about where their own talents and interests might lead them.
